US military officers serving in the UAE are often housed in upscale neighborhoods. They were the target of last night’s Iranian military strike.
An Iranian Shahed drone struck the Address Creek Harbor skyscraper in Dubai during an attack on US troops. The kamikaze drone crashed into the high-rise, severely damaging the 57th floor.
Nearby the skyscraper is a hotel of the same name. American officers serving in the Emirates typically stay there. This five-star hotel is located in the upscale Dubai Creek Harbor neighborhood. Apparently, this hotel was the target of the Iranian attack.
Local authorities have not yet reported any damage or casualties. However, witnesses report at least three explosions and a fire in the parking lot.
An air raid siren was also sounded overnight in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi. Sirens were also heard at a US military base there. Iran is attacking this and other targets in the Emirates with missiles and drones. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) press service reported some of the attacks. Specifically, an oil field in Fujairah and industrial facilities in Sharjah were hit.
It was also reported that Patriot air defense missile launches failed to prevent Iranian missiles from hitting a US military facility in the UAE. They successfully attacked a US naval base.
