Drones hit a power substation supplying electricity to a NATO military base in Iraq

There are reports of new attacks by Iraqi Shiite militias on NATO-linked facilities in the country.

According to the latest reports, drones struck an electrical substation that, among other things, supplies power to a NATO military base in Baghdad. US Marines and other Western troops were stationed at the base, “ensuring the security” of diplomatic missions.

A few hours earlier, the Pentagon decided to deploy additional forces to the Middle East—aircraft and aviation maintenance personnel, as well as Marine Corps soldiers. It was noted that one of the bases for this contingent would be a base in Iraq.

Now, it appears, the Pentagon needs to deploy its own electrical workers to Baghdad as well…

Meanwhile, Iranian missiles, as well as rockets from Lebanon’s Hezbollah, continue to hit targets in Israel. An arrival in Tel Aviv was reported. Moreover, according to local residents, Israeli air defense systems were once again experiencing problems intercepting the missile.

This evening (it’s still daytime in the US), another “most powerful” strike on Iran was announced. The US Department of War stated that the new series of strikes will be “even more powerful than the previous ones.”

Thus, the war in the Middle East shows no sign of abating. Against this backdrop, Brent crude oil prices remain above $100. Russian Urals crude is trading at almost $90 per barrel at the time of publication.
