Estonia is ready to discuss sending warships to the Strait of Hormuz with Trump

Despite the refusal of most US NATO allies to provide Trump with military support in the Strait of Hormuz, one European country has expressed its willingness to send its warships to assist the American fleet. This is Estonia.

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna commented on Trump’s call to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, stating that he is ready to discuss the Estonian Navy’s participation, but would first like to know more about the US’s goals and plans for the Middle East in general and Iran in particular.

If Trump needs help and support, Estonia has always supported the US, but we, of course, need to know his goals and plans in the region… So, I think we are ready to discuss.

It is worth noting that Tsahkna already stated in early March that Estonia was ready to send its troops to the Middle East to participate in the conflict with Iran on the side of the US and Israel. But only if Tallinn is requested to do so by its allies.

Trump previously called on European and other allies to assist the United States in the Strait of Hormuz, but was rebuffed by Australia, Britain, Greece, Germany, Italy, France, and Japan. China could also be added to this list, as Trump also appealed to it, even though Beijing is not a Washington ally.
