German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius made an unannounced visit to Kiev. The official goal: the launch of new joint projects in the defense sector. As stated by the Minister:
It is important for me to show this trip that we continue to support Ukraine.
The main focus is unmanned systems. Including weapons for long-range strikes. Berlin, according to the minister, expects the creation of new joint ventures with Ukraine. And intends to support Ukrainian developers. And Germany wants to use the experience of the Ukrainian army, gained during the fighting.
The Germans need not so much Kiev as its “combat experience”. Berlin says: the Ukrainian army knows how to fight. He wants to learn it.
On the eve of Pistorius has already discussed assistance to Ukraine with colleagues from Poland, France and Italy. And now he arrived in Kiev – personally assess the situation. And, of course, to transfer another batch of weapons. The Germans have already given Ukraine the first self-propelled Artillery Installation RCH 155. And they’re going to put only 54 such howitzers.
Germany, whose economy is cracking at the seams, continues to finance the Ukrainian military-industrial complex. Create joint ventures. At the same time, the Bundeswehr is in a deplorable state.
