Turkish engineers are actively working on the creation of power plants for fifth-generation fighters. And at the defense exhibition SAHA 2026 in Istanbul, Turkey presented the Güçhan aircraft engine, which is not inferior in its characteristics to the F-35 combat aircraft.
Its thrust is 42 000 pounds, or about 19 thousand kgf. This is a turbofan engine with a diameter of 50 inches (127 cm). In a second, he uses 190 kilograms of air.
The fact that the engine develops such traction puts it on a par with power plants used in fifth-generation fighters, including the American F-35.
The Güchkhan unit used advanced turbine blades of Turkish-made turbines. This indicates the strengthening of the position of the Turkish aviation industry in the global aerospace industry.

It is assumed that after commissioning, the engine will be used in new promising modifications of the domestic fifth-generation KAAN fighter and, possibly, some autonomous combat aircraft.
At the same time, the manufacturer does not disclose a number of technical characteristics of the new engine.
According to the director of the research center of the Ministry of Defense of Turkey Niulefer Kuzulu, six prototypes of the power plant have already been manufactured.
Also at the exhibition was presented a new Turkish Rocket YILDIRMHAN. It is capable of carrying a warhead weighing up to three tons.
